Musa Papua Yellow Variegata is an extremely rare and collectible variety of banana tree, prized for its intense yellow variegation on the leaves. The leaf blades have irregular creamy yellow and green stripes, often with a very contrasting arrangement, which gives the plant a particularly exotic look. The pseudostem can also show lighter coloration. The plant grows moderately fast, usually reaching about 1.5-2 meters in pot cultivation, and its greatest ornament is its stable, distinct variegation.

It grows best in a very bright place, but with diffused light, as the intense sun can burn the bright parts of the leaves. During the summer season it can stand outside, as long as it is sheltered from the wind and has high humidity.
The most favorable time for planting or transplanting is late spring, when temperatures are already stably high. The plant in this period acclimatizes more easily and enters the growth phase faster.
It prefers fertile, permeable and slightly moist soil, with the addition of perlite or coconut fiber to improve aeration. Variegated varieties are more sensitive to overwatering, so the soil should be moist, but never wet.
This variety does not tolerate cold, so it must be moved to a bright room with a temperature of about 12-15°C for the winter. During the dormant period, watering is kept to a minimum to avoid root rot, especially since variegated plants are more susceptible to damage.
