Musa acuminata ‘Super Dwarf Cavendish’ is a dwarf variety of banana tree, which, thanks to its small size, is perfect for growing in pots in apartments, conservatories or on terraces. The plant usually grows to about 1.2-1.5 meters in height, while maintaining its characteristic tropical appearance with large green leaves. Under the right conditions it can produce fruit – small bananas with a sweet taste – although it is more often grown as an ornamental plant. It is distinguished by its fast growth, decorativeness and relatively easy care, which is why it is one of the most popular banana varieties for home cultivation.

It grows best in bright, warm rooms or conservatories with access to diffused light. In summer it can be exposed to a balcony or terrace, protected from strong winds.
It is best to plant in spring, when the days are longer and the plant acclimatizes faster. It can also be transplanted in summer, provided there is adequate moisture.
It prefers fertile, permeable and slightly acidic soil that retains moisture well. A mixture of all-purpose soil with sand and compost works best.
In the colder months, move the plant indoors and ensure temperatures above 15°C. It’s a good idea to limit watering and maintain moderate humidity.
