It grows best in sunny or lightly shaded locations. The more sun, the more abundant the flowering.
Planting can be done in spring or autumn, avoiding periods of frost. Spring planting gives the plant more time to establish roots.
It prefers fertile, humus-rich, and moderately moist soils. It grows well in substrates ranging from slightly acidic to neutral.
The plant is frost-resistant, but young specimens should be covered for the winter. Older shrubs do not require additional protection.
